Arsenal are reportedly interested in signing Belgian hotshot Michy Batshuayi.

The Premier League side, who defeated Manchester United 3-0 last time out to climb up to second in the table, are monitoring the Marseille striker closely ahead of a potential move during the January transfer window.

The 22-year-old, who only arrived at the Stade Velodrome last summer from Standard Liege, has already scored six league goals in nine games this season for the Ligue 1 outfit.

Batshuayi, who made his Belgium debut against Cyprus back in March, has emerged as one of Europe’s finest young strikers.

With manager Arsene Wenger left with only two recognised strikers, Olivier Giroud and Theo Walcott, until Danny Welbeck’s return from knee surgery, the Gunners could swoop for the Marseille hitman in the New Year to bolster their Premier League title hopes.
