Imagine being 2-1 down at QPR away, a game that you probably would take a point from but would absolutely love to win. Now imagine that in the last few minutes, the ball drops to your left-back. Your winger has made a darting run and is begging to be played in, yet your left-back shapes to shoot. What would your reaction be?
Mine was many, many bad words in amongst pleas with him not to stupidly blaze it over the bar and hit a three-year-old in the face. Thankfully for Cardiff and the little boy, our defender Scott Malone struck a stunner into the top corner to send the City fans back down the M4 relatively happy.

– Peter Whittingham v Barnsley
A goal that won the ‘Mitre goal of the season’ award, this goal shows Peter at his very best. It even involves some excellent play from Jay Emmanuel-Thomas, the only useful thing he ever did in a Cardiff shirt.
