League Two: Manager, Player and Goal of the Month (January)
3rd February 2016

Player of the Month: Gregg Wylde (Plymouth Argyle)

Plymouth have negotiated some tough matches in January, but they still remain in an excellent position to continue their automatic promotion push. A lot of this is down to their 24-year-old Scottish winger who has been a real asset to the Pilgrims since signing from St Mirren last summer. He has been a real force from midfield and has already scored six times this season; two of them in January, including the second goal in an important 3-2 win against Stevenage. Argyle’s squad is very strong and Wylde could prove to be a key member of it as the business end of the season approaches.

Chris Wilder’s Cobblers now sit two points clear at the top of League Two, with two games in hand, after a fruitful January.

Manager of the Month: Chris Wilder (Northampton Town)

A flawless January which saw the Cobblers pick up a maximum twelve points sees Wilder clinch the Manager of the Month for the second time this season. Having maintained a good run of form on the pitch while the club was struggling off it, the takeover seems to have spurred Wilder and his team on even more. Victories over Barnet, Dagenham & Redbridge and Morecambe were important, but their 2-1 win away at fellow promotion chasers Plymouth has really boosted their title credentials. Wilder’s team enter February two points clear of Argyle in second place, with two games in hand and even more crucially are now eleven points clear of the play-off zone.

Goal of the Month: Tom Elliott (AFC Wimbledon)
