League Two Round-Up: Mansfield win for the first time since November
11th January 2016

Mansfield won their first league match since November to move within a point of the play-offs as they beat Stevenage 2-1.

Chris Clements put the Stags into the lead with a curling free-kick just before half-time, before James Baxendale doubled that advantage with a fine 20-yard strike on his debut.

Armand Gnanduillet’s stoppage-time effort was only a mere consolation for Teddy Sheringham’s men, who are 19th and five without a win.

Crawley Town extended their impressive home record with a 1-0 win over Cambridge to make it seven victories from their last eight league outings in front of their own fans.

Matt Harold scored the only goal after a superb team move as he tucked the ball home following a Lee Barnard cross.

In London, Barnet won their first game of 2016 with a 1-0 victory over high-flying Bristol Rovers.

Ex-Arsenal defender Gavin Hoyte’s early strike from Sam Togwell’s pass was enough for the Bees, who held on despite being reduced to 10-men when Andy Yiadom was shown red after the break.

Accrington Stanley’s match against Notts County at the Crown Ground was postponed because of a waterlogged pitch.
