Liverpool have reportedly made contact regarding a stunning £45m January move for Spain international Alvaro Morata, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.
The Premier League side, who suffered a 1-0 home defeat to the hands of Manchester United on Sunday, want to sign the Juventus striker this month to help the Reds push for a top four finish come the end of the campaign.
The 23-year-old, who has six international caps for his country, has scored just one goal in 18 league appearances for the defending Serie A champions this season.
Morata, who cost the Italian giants €20m from Real Madrid back in July 2014, has fallen behind fellow forwards Paulo Dybala and Mario Mandzukic in the pecking order at Juventus this term.
