Name: Sergio Agüero
One of the few players who could arguably get into any side in Europe; Sergio Agüero will forever go down in Manchester City folklore for ‘that’ goal which sealed their first Premier League crown. City’s title hopes once again rest on the shoulders of the Argentine striker this time around.
Agüero is one of the genuine world-class stars in the Premier League, argued by many as the best centre forward in world football, alongside Barcelona’s Luis Suarez. The Man City fans sing their star striker’s name on a gamely basis and it’s not hard to see why. Fourteen goals in 18 Premier League appearances this season highlight his efficiency in front of goal.
In fact, the forward has scored a blistering 92 goals in 138 matches in all competitions for City. This shows how vital he is to his team; and despite having star names such as David Silva and Yaya Toure, without Agüero, the Sky Blues would be a much weaker force without his influence.
It’s safe to say that Manchester City will hope that Agüero can stay injury-free if they are to overhaul their six-point deficit to Leicester City and win their third Premier League crown.
