Tottenham reportedly have the first option to re-sign Wales international Gareth Bale should he be sold by Real Madrid, as reported by the Mirror.
The Premier League side, who defeated Leicester City 2-0 during their FA Cup third-round replay on Wednesday night, would be interested in welcoming back the winger to White Hart Lane should he leave the Bernabeu in the short-term future.
The 26-year-old, who has 54 international caps for his country, has scored 13 and assisted 11 goals in 17 appearances in all competitions for the La Liga giants this season.
A leaked document has revealed that Spurs have the first option on the Welsh star should he be sold by Madrid; where if any other Premier League club has a bid accepted for Bale before June 30, 2019, Tottenham would have 72 hours to match their offer.
The document also revealed that Madrid paid Spurs a grand total of £77.45m for Bale’s transfer back in September 2013 following several instalments, after he scored 56 goals in 203 appearances for the North London outfit between 2007 and 2013.
