Tottenham Hotspur face Watford at White Hart Lane on Saturday looking to close the gap on the top two as the Premier League edges towards its final third.

Spurs’ 3-0 win at Norwich City on Tuesday night moved them above rivals Arsenal on goal difference and into third, and to within five points of leaders Leicester City.

Harry Kane netted his 17th and 18th strikes of the season during that game – he has contributed heavily to the fact Mauricio Pochettino’s men are the second-highest scorers in the league behind Manchester City.

Their opponents played out a goalless draw with Chelsea on Wednesday night – Quique Sanchez Flores’ outfit have recovered from five successive defeats to win one and draw the other of their last two outings.

Their league form in particular has proven to be a hindrance recently, though – the Hornets have not won away from home in the league since December, when they beat Sunderland 1-0.

They also have a poor recent record against the North Londoners, not beating Tottenham in eight attempts – drawing two and losing six, including the last four.

Team News:

Midfielder Dele Alli should be available to play after recovering from illness, while Jan Vertonghen is out with a mediate cruciate ligament injury.

Miguel Britos is more likely to be ready for selection for the visitors than not, but will need to be assessed again prior to kick-off.
