Wales international Gareth Bale has reportedly been scared off any potential move to Manchester United due to the severe uncertainty surrounding the club, according to the Independent.

The Premier League giants, who were booed off once again on Saturday after suffering a 1-0 defeat to Southampton inside Old Trafford, have been heavily linked with moves for the Real Madrid winger during previous transfer windows.

The 26-year-old, who has 54 international caps for his country, has scored an impressive 13 goals in 17 appearances in all competitions for the La Liga outfit this season.

Bale; who cost Madrid a world record £85.1m back in September 2013 from Tottenham, was thought to have given serious consideration to a summer switch to United back in the summer before being persuaded to stay at the Bernabeu by former boss Rafa Benitez.

Now with Red Devils boss Louis van Gaal’s future completely up in the air after United fell five points adrift of the top four at the weekend, United want to avoid a mid-season managerial change if they are to reignite their interest in Bale at the end of this campaign.
