Arsenal are reportedly hopefully of sealing the £4.3m signing of Russia international Aleksandr Kokorin next month.
The Premier League outfit; who defeated Manchester City 2-1 on Monday night, are long-term admirers of the Dynamo Moscow striker, but they are destined to make a firm offer for the forward during the forthcoming January transfer window.
The 24-year-old, who has 36 international caps for his country, has scored five goals in ten appearances in all competitions for the Premier Liga side so far this season.
Former Everton, Manchester United and Southampton star Andrei Kanchelskis said, “The Russian championship is very weak and Aleksandr can progress at Arsenal.
“Arsenal are the best option for Aleksandr’s career. If he is prepared to work a lot, he will not have any problems.”
However Arsene Wenger’s Gunners are likely to face competition from Russian rivals Zenit St Petersburg for Kokorin’s signature in the New Year.
