Name: Harry Arter
Position: Midfielder
Currently relishing their first-ever campaign in the English top-flight; Premier League newboys AFC Bournemouth’s ultimate Valentine’s Day date would have to be midfielder Harry Arter. Sorry Matt Ritchie!
The 26-year-old; who has been with the Cherries since 2010; has starred for Eddie Howe’s side this season, scoring one goal in 15 league games, netting the consolation in his teammates’ 3-1 defeat to the hands of West Ham United only last month.
Arter, who was brought into the club by manager Howe back in June 2010 from non-league Woking following an FA tribunal, has warmed the hearts of Bournemouth supporters during his five-and-a-half year spell with the south coast outfit.
With former England international Scott Parker being his brother-in-law; where both players started out their professional careers at Charlton Athletic, Arter has certainly done his family proud with a string of commanding and leading performances from the centre of the park this term to significantly help the Cherries in their bid for survival come May.
To demonstrate his passion, commitment and loyalty to the club; the Republic of Ireland international was handed horrendous news back in December 2015 as his and his partner’s daughter tragically died at birth.
Just days later; Arter performed exceptionally well in Bournemouth’s inspiring 2-1 win over 13-time Premier League champions at Dean Court, with boss Howe dedicating the victory to Arter and his family. Trooper.
