Northampton Town striker Marc Richards netted his 16th goal of the season in all competitions against York on Saturday.

Cambridge climbed to ninth place with a narrow 1-0 with over struggling Dagenham as Luke Berry scored the only goal of the game from the penalty spot eight minutes from time after Joe Worrall brought down Robbie Simpson. The U’s are now only one point off of the play-offs.

Mansfield held on to beat Morecambe 2-1 as Stags goalkeeper Scott Shearer saved two penalties. Kevin Ellison put the visitors ahead with a low finish, before Matty Blair’s deflected strike found the back of the net. Mal Bennings corner then found the head of Krystian Pearce to put the hosts in the lead. Ryan Tafazolli and Shaun Miller both missed penalties to equalise after the heroics of Shearer.

Carlisle beat fellow play-off hopefuls Accrington 2-0 after first-half strikes from Charlie Wyke, who slotted the ball home, and Alex Gilliead who drilled in a low effort, meaning the visitors are now three points adrift of seventh place.

Leyton Orient leapfrogged fellow promotion contenders Portsmouth with a 1-0 victory. Jobi McAnuff’s outstanding 25-yard strike means Kevin Nolan’s men have now won three of their last four matches.

Crawley overcame manageress Stevenage 1-0 in a game of few chances. Matt Harold grabbed the game’s only goal when he met Roarie Deacon’s cross. The hosts have now gone nine matches without a win.

Luton narrowly beat Wycombe 1-0 thanks to Cameron McGeehan’s excellent half-volley which looped over Ryan Allsop for his tenth goal of the season as the visitors climb to 14th whilst the hosts drop to tenth.
