Manchester City are thought to be planning a summer raid for France international Dimitri Payet, according to Sunsport.
The Premier League giants, who have announced that current Bayern Munich head coach Pep Guardiola will replace Manuel Pellegrini as manager this summer, want to make the West Ham United star midfielder their first addition under the Spaniard’s reign ahead of the 2016-17 campaign.
The 28-year-old, who has 15 international caps for his country, has scored six and assisted five goals in 23 appearances in all competitions for the Hammers this season.
Payet, who only arrived at Upton Park back in June from Ligue 1 outfit Marseille for £10m, is also said to be interesting defending Premier League champions Chelsea as well following his instant success in the English top-flight this term.
However the report suggests City would be willing to spend up to £30m this summer to capture Payet, who has only recently begun talks with West Ham over a new five-year deal.
The Sun also claims Arsenal have also been impressed with Payet’s displays for the Hammers this season, but that they are unlikely to take their interest any further should City or Chelsea begin the bidding process.
